I always saw this as a table sauce (at dinners or delis) and figured it was sub par like Tabasco or Cholula so i never bothered to try it but saw someone say in here that “crystal is the sauce Tabasco wants to be” so i figured id try it. God damn, i went 35 years without trying it and i missed out.. this bottle is less than a week old and its empty already 😂

  1. This on Granny’s fried chicken was my childhood.

If you like that, also try Cajun Chef

Something I learned from a local in the Outer Banks of NC.

Get an ice cold PBR tall boy, crack it open, fill the rim with Crystals, enjoy. I was surprised, it wasn’t half bad…..until I had 4 of them and had the absolute worst fire shits the next day.

I have been trying to find this stuff where I live, and I was finally able to nab it at a local deli for like two bucks. Holy have I been missing out!

I love Crystal with a steamed oyster and a saltine cracker.

  7. I am in Colorado and was with my mom at the dollar store and I saw it there. Had never seen it before except online.

That is the sauce I prefer for buffalo wings. “Louisiana hot sauce”

Emulsify it with a good amount of butter, splash of Worcestershire, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, white or apple cider vinegar depending on how you like it, and heat it over the stove, whisking. Don’t let it boil or it will split

  9. I pour a little sauce bowl of Chrystal alongside a bowl of tartar sauce with my fish and chips. Never gets old. Vinegary chips are made to be dunked in Louisiana hot sauce.

  10. Crystal is amazing, and is like… $1.19 a bottle. Such an absolute rock solid bargain!

That’s my 2nd favorite after Louisiana Hot Sauce

Crystal is great, been using it for years. Always on eggs, rice&beans and especially homemade baked mac n cheese

It’s a solid sauce if you like the Louisiana style vinegar based cayenne sauce. Which I do.

I used to drive past their plant. They were also famous for their fruit preserves, which were in military rations from WW II through Vietnam. The smell when they were producing preserves was unbelievable. Absolutely my favorite Louisiana hot sauce. They moved their manufacturing upriver after Katrina.

Did it cause any discomfort or breakouts? I mean f@&$ it, I’d do just about anything for a good nights rest!

  16. Well on the plus side now that you’ve passed it for so long you’ll enjoy it so much more!

Also I dislike original flavor Tabasco but try Tabasco smoked Chipotle (lower heat) and jalapeno (almost no heat but amazing flavor)

I’ve been told to try Tabasco scorpion on this sub but I’ve yet to find it in store and keep forgetting to look for it online

I also only just tried this for the first time last week and was very surprised!
